We all know commuting on the central line every working day is a grim part of life. But amongst severe delays, faulty trains and numerous passenger alarms there was the light at the end of the stuffy underground tunnel – the announcer at Bethnal Green station. Never had “MIND THE DOORS PA-LEASE” been said with so much passion, enthusiasm and heart. Let it be known, this man made us do so much more than mind the gap.

But over the last year, our central line commute has been restored to dark days in the absence of the Legend. For the first time in my life, I got out at Bethnal Green station to investigate - and I broke down like a train with people LEANING ON THE DOORS when I learnt he had retired! Legend - I want you to know how many lives you have touched with happiness, but oh what we would do to have you back for one last symphony and warm our ears & our hearts once again.

For everyone who has had the privilege of hearing one of Britain's unsung heroes & all my loyal fans on my Facebook page, to everyone who lives in what they call "greater London" and wants to hear the Legend for the first time - I tell you now an air-conditioned overground is NOT SO GREAT without this audio magic. I appeal to you all to sign this petition in the hope that the central line, TFL, Boris Johnson and even you, David Cameron, will bring back the Legend for one last announcement.
