Dear Faculty, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

As students of the BFA acting program, we strongly request the readmission of our peer Michael Bortolin back into the BFA acting program graduating class of 2014. As students in the BFA, we are extremely disappointed in the judgment exercised in dismissing him from the program. We wholeheartedly disagree with the decision and believe our class will be weakened in his absence. In observing Michael's work and preformances in the past 8 months talented, disciplined, and inspiring actor. Michael’s talent is in his ability to bring his characters to life on stage in a subtle and understated way. Michael is an actor who trusts enough not to “push” and the result is a natural quality that is refreshing to watch. Michael’s discipline throughout the program has been unwavering. Michael always puts running his lines over ‘running his mouth’. He comes to class prepared, when needed uses his breaks to further improve concepts taught in class, and respects ‘the space’ and his fellow actors enough to refrain from socializing in the studio regularly. Michael’s passion for acting inspires his classmates as he continually reads acting texts outside of class. In addition, it is inspiring to see the personal growth Michael has made since the beginning of the term. Michael has grown from someone who was very shy and only interacted with classmates he had known previously, to someone who now goes out of his way to talk, joke, and interact with a number of his classmates as well as the intermediate and final year students. Overall, Michael plays a sizable role in the high quality of work we have produced as a class, and as a result we believe he deserves to be in this program.
