Comments: Newport needs to try and compete with Cwmbran and needs to provide the same parking options regardless of cost to the council.

Comments: The city centre is degrading fast, and adding this to the mix is going to finish it off. I for one won't pay when there is free parking just 5 miles up the road and better shopping. Cwmbran here I come!

Comments: Why stop free parking completely? Free for 1 hour and 50p for the second hour would make more sense. Cutting out free parking altogether will be the last nail in the coffin of the 'city' centre.

Comments: Please keep this free parking until the redevelopment is in place to help traders and encourage visitors. Do NOT let the town centre deteriorate any further. Action on this and moving the redevelopment on is vital.

Comments: Newport is already crippled enough and they expect people to come to Newport and pay for parking, that is NOT the way forward. If the council had any common sense they would keep the free parking and put rental rates for businesses down and start to rebuild the city because as it is the city in going nowhere.
