Please accept this petition as a common voice from a community that is strong in their belief that the proposed change from the original Master Planned Community with Low Intensity zoning to the new Cluster Development zoning will not promote the life style that we sought when we moved our families to Bridgemore Village, in Thompson’s Station, TN. We all have something in common here, and that is we are here by choice. We had other options available to us and most options felt about the same until we discovered the hidden jewel in Thompsons Station. The feel coming into our neighborhood can’t be found in most other communities. When we moved here we didn’t just relocate our families or our businesses, we relocated out lives. We moved here to get away from the overcrowded neighborhoods that are being built everywhere else. The ones that cluster all their homes in tight little rows that are so close you can step from one rooftop to another. Where the streets are so narrow they barely allow two cars to pass each other let alone park. All of those planned neighborhoods aren’t for creating a lifestyle for families; they are planned for the sole purpose of trying to squeeze every last square foot of land into another lot for another home. That is where you give someone directions to your home as the third white garage door on the left or the one with the extra bush in the front yard. You can’t just drop a park with a swing set in the middle of a sea of homes and call it “a planned community with your lifestyle in mind”. What we bought when we moved our families here was; come to Thompson’s Station’s Master Planned Community, Bridgemore Village which offers the tranquility of a family-friendly, small community in the rich Southern tradition (check the website http://www.bridgemorevillage.com/lifestyle.htm). It offers beauty at every turn with pocket parks, tree lined boulevards and open space for the family. 1). The proposed future cluster development is not a continuation of the existing two phases which are Low Intensity Design with most lots being 100’ in width. 2). In the current development the smaller lots and homes are facing open parks and having ally access to rear loaded garages, the new development has neither. 3). The first two phases have parks and open space throughout the community as to where the new one does not. 4). The current development allows and requires deep front, side and back setbacks for the home building envelope whereas the proposed development does not. 5). The current amenities (pool) that is provided for phases one and two will not be sufficient to support the additional homes and population that the new development will bear, and there isn’t any additional pool planned or proposed for the new development, only a playground. So as a total the amenities that are current and proposed will not support the 545 units when built out and will create a burden to the current homeowners. 6). Safety is a paramount issue for the current homeowners with their children in mind. The additional traffic and traffic patterns that will be created will produce heavy use on the streets that are not wide enough to provide safe conditions for children in play and will have visibility issues if parking is forced to the streets. With this said it is our belief that this proposed development should not be considered a continuation of the current Bridgemore Village community and should be considered its own entity. We request that the new development not connect to the streets of Bridgemore Village and utilize some of its required open space to create a separation or buffer from the current phase one & two. This will allow the developer to utilize or create new CC&R’s for its project and allow for the existing homeowner’s to maintain the community they desire, a “Win-Win” situation for all. We, as a community don’t have a problem with growth and in fact know it is essential for a thriving economy. We just want that growth to be truly planned with lifestyle in mind and provide options for everyone. Some don’t want large homes on large lots, they may want smaller homes that are easily maintained, and others may want to live downtown environment in the middle of a busy city. That’s fine but there must be a true distinction between them to offer a choice based on the desired lifestyle they are looking for. For if all neighborhoods are built the same, look the same, feel the same, what choices are you are you really providing? We, the undersigned stand strong as a community in the belief that this petition and its request is in the best interest of all parties involved:
