It seems to me that in their zeal to promote the profession in those capacities, various APA officers (paid and volunteer) have lost sight of the limits to those roles, and of the fundamental ethical and moral principles for which I thought we stood.

Now to learn that members of my profession have played a major role in the design and implementation of systematic torture is shocking to me.
