It's no secret that the US is incredibly overpopulated with "pets". Every year, thousands of helpless animals die in shelters and on the streets. This is due to the lack of education and responsibility in "pet owners". Puppies and kittens are cute, there's no doubt about it. But when the cuteness wears off, and especially, when an owner is left with a troublesome or untrainalbe dog, the dog is abandoned, given away or surrendered to a shelter. This petition will be an effort to stop the breeding and mass production of cats and dogs by making it manditory for every "pet owner" to get their dog/cat spayed or neutered. An exception to this will be legitimate breeders who are educated and responsible. Legitimate breeders will be the only people who can sell animals to the general public, as pets (spayed/neutered BEFORE adoption). Please help stop backyard breeder's and puppy mills!
