Name: Jason Royal on May 20, 2009State: FLCountry: USComments: Recently I was given notice by my home owners insurance that I would be dropped if I didnt get rid of my Amstaffs. I am a responsible breeder seeking to promote these dogs and show people what wonderfull family pets and companions they truely are.I have a small family run kennel (www.olympiankennelsjaxfla.com) I am also a Police officer for the last 18 years with 8 years as a k9 handler. This is wrong in every since of the word! I deal with dogs on a daily basis and think its the OWNERS who should be held accountable not the breed! This is just another form of B.S.L.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 25, 2009State: PACountry: USComments: Saw a few people in PA on the list that said they were dropped because of their dog. They need to do their research, in PA and MI it is ILLEGAL for an insurer to deny you coverage because of your dog no matter what breed.Flag

We have never had any claims for any reason !!!! Aparently they changed there policy on rottweilers 7 yrs ago. Folks check your policy!!!! apparently they can change whenever at whatever time!!!! Hell, all we do is make our premiums. PS my rottie is an angel - my cat is a different story........Flag

Name: Teresa Miesch on Mar 23, 2010State: New JerseyCountry: United StatesComments: It is completely unfair to generalize a dog breed based on individuals in that breed. It is illegal to discriminate based on race, sex, and creed despite some bad individuals for human beings, so why is it tolerated for "man's best friend".Flag

Name: Karin Prescott on Dec 6, 2012State: VirginiaCountry: United StatesComments: To have a blanket ban on so many breeds, regardless of each dog's actual character and behavior is unfair and unjust, and only perpetuates the unfortunate and dangerous myths about certain breeds of dogs. If nothing else, insurance companies should at least allow for dogs that have been shown to be good citizens with a letter of reference from a certified trainer or veterinarian, and/or perhaps that have passed a "canine good citizenship" test.Flag

Name: Ann Cobban on Jan 27, 2013State: OregonCountry: United StatesComments: I own a 4 1/2 year old female Doberman. She was bought from a master breeder of gentle dobermans. She is gentle, sweet, intelligent and not an aggressive bone in her body. I can't rent a place because she happens to be a Doberman. So what, I live on the street in my car? This insurance discrimination has to stop.Flag

Animals only do what they are trained to do or bread to do. they do not have the ability to comprehend the effects of ther actions. i do not beleve every person and animal whenther deemed good or bad should continue to be punished because of ther breed.Flag
