| 351 | N Graham | How can we achieve higher breastfeeding rates in this country if we cut posts like this? |
| 352 | Anonymous | Bella was invaluable with her advice and support when I had problems breast feeding my baby. If it wasn't for her I would have given up breast feeding altogether, but I stuck it out and I am so glad I did. Specialist like Bella are what make the health service. |

| 356 | Sharon O'Keeffe | Bella provided great support, in a very friendly and relaxed environment to me and my friends on birth of our first children, it would be a great loss to mothers, particularly first time breast feeding mohers in the area if Bella were to go. |

| 359 | Louise Bailey | Bella was absolutely amazing when I had my daughter nearly a year ago. I say such good things about my experiences at Barnet and a lot of that is down to Bella. Please don't axe her job we need her! |

| 361 | Melanie Young | When my son was born almost 3 years ago, I had a lot of problems breastfeeing him. I could not have continued with it without Bella's help. |

| 363 | Anonymous | Although i had my baby at Watford and breastfed for a year, the breastfeeding support I received was invaluable and I feel that breastfeeding support should be an essential part of any hospital which has a maternity department. |

| 370 | Rebecca Derrick | Please do not get rid of Bella Dale's position. Breastfeeding is very important for new babys. The health authorities are trying to promote breastfeeding and you are getting rid of the head of antinatal and breastfeeding. This lady is an expert in her field. I have actually needed her help and she has been brilliant. She has alot of enthusiasim and helps mothers with breastfeeding problems. The government is all hit up about obese children, well if you do not have people who promote breastfeeding and help new mums cope with it, instead of them just going on to bottle feeding, which is not a fantastic start for newborns. Of course if you have complications you can only then bottlefeed them. Please rethink of what you will be doing by getting rid of this position. |
| 371 | Anonymous | I can't believe that this service is under threat. It was the most supportive aspect of Barnet's care 4 years ago when I had my son. Bella was a much needed inspiration in keeping going on breast feeding which was much more challenging than I had imagined. I could call out of office hours when times were often toughest and get good advice from nurses who really understood all the apects of feeding in a way that my local doctors practice could not. Without this I would have given my son bottle milk at these times. I breast fed for 18 months in the end and we loved it. My son is healthy, strong and emotuionally well adjusted and I feel sure that this is in a large part due to breast feeding.
If support from Bella and her team is not available in the future I know that Mums will turn to the bottle in desperation! Bella deserves amedal for her work - not the push!! |

| 373 | Katy Lesner | Bella was the most wonderful support when I wanted to breast feed my baby (now 2 years) and I couldnt have done it without her support, day and night. I am expecting another baby now and I am concerned that the support wont be there next time! Please keep Bella! |
| 374 | Naomi Haynes | I hope I am not too late, since Bella helped me breastfeed my daughter.
Breastfeeding has been one of the hardest things I have ever done (way tougher than the 60 hour labour, followed by an emergency c-section) and if it wasn't for Bella helping me through an incredibly difficult and emotional time, I never would have had the chance to breastfeed. And to have been able to feed my daughter when she had reflux was quite remarkable.
PLEASE don't let her job be axed. I doubt I will be able to breastfeed any future babies without that kind of support. |
| 375 | Anonymous | Essential educational services shouldn't be scrapped! Surely new Mums deserve support!! |
| 376 | anna cane | Bella. Leon, Jean and the team have had a fantastic effect on me. I have happily and successfully breast fed my two children. My youngest shall be breast fed until she is one and a half as her older brother was. She was seven weeks early and the team gave me fantastic support, so she was out of the hospital after two weeks and feeding solely on breast milk. They are invaluable. The hospital should be proud of them and the future savings on health care that will come from breast fed children. It should support Bella and her team accordingly. |
| 377 | stephanie noble | Such false economics |
| 378 | gaynor | Bella is lovely and she really tried to help me with breastfeeding problems. Hospitals should be about more than 'business'. |
| 379 | Anonymous | This is a very important issue - please use your heart as well as your head in the decisions you make. |
| 380 | GERALDINE POWELL | BELLA AND HER TEAM ARE AN INVALUABLE CREDIT TO BARNET HOSPITAL - I WAS HUGELY IMPRESSED AND HELPED BY THE BREASTFEEDING ADVICE GIVEN BY BELLA ON THE BIRTH OF MY SECOND SON - MY HEALTH VISITOR HAD ADVISED ME TO BOTTLE FEED DUE TO HIS SIZE - I BREASTFEED HIM EXCLUSIVELY FOR FOUR MONTHS AND THEN IN CONJUNCTION WITH WEENING FOR A YEAR. HOWEVER, WHEN TWENTY ONE MONTHS LATER I HAD A BABY WHO WAS NOT ONLY A FUSSY FEEDER BUT ALSO SPENT TIME IN BARNET'S TREASURE ISLAND WARD FROM FOUR WEEKS, BELLA'S ADVICE AND SUPPORT I KNOW WITHOUT DOUBT ENABLED AND ENCOURAGED ME TO CONTINUE FEEDING HIM UNTIL HE WAS SIX MONTHS OLD.. BARNET HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SHOULD, INSTEAD OF CUTTING THE INFANT FEEDING SPECIALIST POSITION SHOULD BE THROWING THEIR HANDS UP IN JOY THAT SO MANY FAMILIES, THANKS TO BELLA, LEAVE THEIR HOSPITAL HAVING HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD, INSTEAD OF GETTING RID OF THE POSITION SHOULD PERHAPS READ THEIR OWN LITERATURE ON THE PROMOTION OF BREASTFEEDING! |

| 382 | Chaya Moont | Without Bellas help my infection would have gone untreated. 3 doctors and midwives failed to spot the signs but she did. Her help allowed me to breast feed my son for a further 7 months. |
