| 251 | Katie Bate | It is difficult enough to live with the often unexpected symptoms of MS as well as being pregnant. This lady is clearly a very valued member of the community and her job should be saved. |
| 252 | Joanna Forsythe | I am a new mum, 32 weeks pregnant and at Barnet General. I am very apprehensive re: breastfeeding but as I am aware that 'breast is best' will try with the knowledge that Bella will be there to help. Please DO NOT axe her post |

| 254 | christine wilks | Just got this information today - hope I'm not too late. This special lady should not be made redundant - the NHS desperately needs people with her valuable skills. |
| 255 | alison chatzidakis | I developed a cyst on my nipple and breastfeeding was excrutiating. My GP didn't know what it was, but thankfully Bella did and got me seen by a breast surgeon within the week. I am so grateful for her expertise and believe her support is vital. |
| 256 | Raoul Simons | |
| 257 | Dr Richard Shenderey | Yet again the NHS managers have no idea how to run services sensibly and efficiently! |
| 258 | Irene and John Singer | Such a valuable person in the community should
NEVER be made redundant or be considered for redundancy. Every effort should be made to keep Bella in her post
Good luck to her and everyone involved in doing this |

| 264 | Michelle Newman | I have 3 children and Bella Dale, through her support and patience, enabled me to breastfeed all of them. My first daughter was born with a cleft lip and through Bella's sheer enthusiasm and support allowed me to breastfeed for 4 months.
My second and third daughters were both breastfed for 1 year - and just knowing that Bella was on the other end of the phone - if I needed her, was such a relief.
I cannot believe the decision to axe her job has been taken - this is absolutely ludicrous. Breastfeeding is a vital start to a child's life and if more mums were given the help and support they needed in the early weeks, so many more would carry on doing it - without the support, Mums are forced to give up. |

| 266 | Jenny Carlin | Bella's advise and support was invaluable to me in the first few weeks of breasfeeding my son. I don't know what I would have done without it. Her approach and dedication is amazing - Barnet would be losing an invaluable resource and many mothers will suffer as a result. |
| 267 | Rebecca Rees | I'm sorry if I missed this opportunity to add my name. please let me know what else I can do to support this campaign. best wishes |
| 268 | Liz Galloway | My daughter was given no help at the Royal Free but Bella saved her sanity and also helped her to breastfeed her son until the present time (he is now four months old) Keep up the good work Bella |

| 271 | Anonymous | Bella's post is very crucial in keeping the focus and lead on breastfeeding which has always been at the 'cinderella' end of the service spectrum. Long term benefits both in health and financial savings to the NHS must not be overlooked. Bella's experience has helped the Whitt NHS Trust with our breastfeeding initiatives to withdraw the supply of formula milk routinely. |

| 273 | Eleanor Leeser | I was more than well supported by Bella and her team after I had my son and attended her support group during 2002 and 2003. I would not have been able to breast feed without her and would not have continued breastfeeding for as long without her support. I think this service is critical to the local community of new mothers and felt on many occasions that she preserved my sanity at a time when new mothers are so vulnerable to depression. I know that the loss of her post would be of huge detrimnent to a large group of new mothers, and also to the group of young mothers she supports who are an extremely vulnerable group and clearly benefit a great deal from her support and advice. |
| 274 | Tamara Gordon | I feel that the trust are quick to see short term benefits of cutting the post. However have they considered the long term benefits - which maybe can't be measured, but are widely written about. It is so important to breast feed is especially in the first 6 months, this builds up their imunity and maybe even prevents or minimises the childs use of the NHS because of this! i have been to the breast feeding support at Barnet and it would be a crime to axe Bella! |

| 276 | joanne mott-cowan | i had my daughter a year ago and breastfeed her for 9 months. during this time the support and advice i recieved form bella was invaluable. she is a major reason why people breast feed as she is alwasy their to help. to take this support away wou;d be disastrous. |

| 279 | Lucy Wood | Bella Dale is not 'non-business critical.' She is a fantastic professional who saves the Trust a lot of money by improving the long-term wellbeing of parents and babies. |
| 280 | Alf Wood | As a father I benefitted form the antenatal classes that Bella runs. |
| 281 | Anonymous | the only breast feeding counsillor in the borough and her job is said not to be critical, absolutely unbelievaible !!!!!!! |
| 282 | Lyndall Orr | |
| 283 | Zack Simons | |
| 284 | Juliet Nardi | I am upset and outraged that Barnet can consider axing such a critical position - especially when the government are pushing the benefits of breastfeeding. Bella has provided me and many of my friends with support and advice that no other health professional has been able to provide, not even my own doctor - her knowledge and expertise is that valuable. |
| 285 | Anonymous | I have learnt so much from Bella since i have known her. Why would you get rid of someone who gives 110% to her job every day and help mothers give their baby a healthy start? It doesn't make any sense. |

| 287 | Anonymous | bella has a role which cannot be measusred she brings back to midwifery all the elements which are so often neglected her knowledge and enthusiasm are boundless and vital to the women and the service |
| 288 | Anna Winnicka | |
| 289 | Mark Woodland | Bella is one of Barnet Hospital's greatest assets and everything should be done to keep her there |
| 290 | Joanne Woodland | Bella 's persistant help enabled me to breastfeed my son. Without her I may have given up. She was also a huge support with many other aspects of my pregnancy. People like Bella are like gold dust. |
| 291 | Sarah Leslie | |
| 292 | Mrs Priti Shah | My baby is 9 weeks old and she is solely breastfed. However, had we not attended the Breastfeeding Support Group when she was 3 weeks old, I would have given up due to difficulties. At the Group, I was encouraged, helped and fully supported in my desire to breastfeed. I have continued to attend on a weekly basis, together with many other mothers and find it a very useful forum to discuss any on going problems with breastfeeding and motherhood, generally. It is a valuable resource for all mothers and should not be axed. (10.10.06) |
| 293 | ella wood | Think it is very sad that vital posts such as this are threatened, and I feel such actions will have a very negative social impact on our borough. |
| 294 | simon kaye | As a true expert in her field and someone who has provided massive to support to my friend's wife, I cannot understand how this job can be cut. Her care and support is invaluable! |
| 295 | Anonymous | How shortsighted!
The Trust's statement that "breastfeeding advice should be a core part of every midwife's role, not down to one adviser to bang the drum" beggars belief. What they say is true, but a million miles away from the current reality where many midwives receive less than an hour's training in breastfeeding. Supporting mums in learning to breastfeed is a highly skilled role, any old midwife will not do. It is no wonder this country has the lowest breastfeeding rates in Europe with this sort of attitude. Unless the Trust is going to train all their remaining midwives to the same standard as Bella Dale then their statement is a total joke. |

| 298 | Linzi Barnes | I am shocked by the short sightedness of Barnet's hospital managers regarding the plans to axe Bella Dale's post. Breastfeeding is a wonderful start to our babies lives and expert, patient support is essential to help new mothers learn this skill. |
| 299 | Mark Flenner | Bella Dale's advice and understanding were absolutely fundamental let alone critical to the wellbeing of my wife and baby son in the firs tfew month after his birth. We believe Bella's role is essential to a growing number of families looking to maintain breastfeeding as an essential part of the development of their children. |
