| 1 | Sarah Nico | The only reason I am still successfully breastfeeding my twin girls is thanks to the advice and support of Bella - I am proud that I can give them the best start in life and hope that many more mum's in the future can benefit from Bella's invaluable experience. |
| 2 | Charles Phipps | It is vital that such support services remain.
This is precisely the wrong area to be trying to cut costs within a hospital that it supposed to be serving its community. |

| 10 | Catherine Davis | Bella was very supportive to me when I was having problems trying to breasfeed my first child. With the expertise she helped me acquire, I was able to breastfeed my second child with much more confidence and success. |

| 12 | Helen Parker | Bella has provided me with invaluable support, before, during and after the birth of my son. She has responded to my emails regarding breastfeeding out of work hours and has even called and texted me with advice in the evening and at weekends. I understand that Barnet has a higher number than average of breastfeeding mothers and this is commendable, if this is to continue Bella's post is critical to this success. |
| 13 | Abie Longstaff | Bella's classes were absolutely fantastic and a well needed voice of sanity during the early months of breast feeding. Without her help and support I would have given up. I had great problems at first but she recommended nipple shields and I followed her advice with both my first and second child. It would be such a shame to lose her warm and friendly expertise. |

| 15 | Emanuela Rodriguez | All the Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust seems to do is cut services to the community. Classes have been cut, support has been cut and families in the local community keep loosing out. Bella is a superb midwife and her help is invaluable to all the community. Her knowledge and experience has helped thousands of women and the service now available for breastfeeding is second to none. Why take this away as well? What would you achieve by doing this? |
| 16 | Samantha Jayasuriya | Bella was a god send in the early days of motherhood. I really appreciated her advice and support. The service she provides was one of the best I encountered during my confinement at Barnet General. |

| 18 | Samantha Norman | I feel as outraged as you do - I am also in utter disbelief and am disgusted that Barnet General are even considering "deleting" Bella's position. Her incredible support, guidance, advice and deep knowledge in her field have acted as a total lifeline to me before and since the birth of my two children over the past couple of years. |
| 19 | Rachel Davidson | This is a service I'm expecting to need in the near future, and one of the reasons I selected Barnet Hospital for my antenatal care. I think it is apalling that yet again money is seen as more important than the health and well being of patients, in this case women and babies, and so the future health of the community, by people who seem to fail to understand the need for this support and encouragement by someone as experienced as Bella Dale. |
| 20 | Anonymous | I am horrified at the thought of Bella Dale's role being axed. I breastfeed my son for 6 months and would not have lasted a week without her support or the support of her team. Having suffered from allergies myself, I really wanted to breast feed my son to make him immune to allergies, especially knowing that the health authorities were having a push on breastfeeding, she was a life line for me. Also, breastfeeding will have huge implications on the health of our future generations especialy were allegies and weight problems are concerned. If mum's are breastfeeding to combat these problems surely it will save the NHS money in the long run? |

| 27 | Anonymous | As an NCT breastfeeding counsellor who is trying to promote breastfeeding and support mothers this is very bad news. The health of babies is directly affected by their nutrition and if the goverment wish to reduce obesity as a target start at the beginning and promote breastfeeding... |

| 29 | Alpana Shah | I am a 2nd time mother residing in Brent and chose Barnet because of its excellent reputation in ante-natal care and breastfeeding support. I had the privilege of being under the care of Bella Dale who provided excellent advice on breastfeeding and was a friend showing support when I desperately needed somebody to talk to.
My child had been diagnosed with an elongated bladder and Bella's experience and quick-thinking enabled her to set-up a feeding and urination chart immediately, prior to the docter's suggesting the same.
On the 3rd day post birth, my husband and I were tragically told that our baby had Spinal Bifida. If it had not been for Bella's emotional support and clear reasoning, I would not have been able to bond with my child.
During my stay at Barnet, I was amazed by the high level of care and professionalism shown by Bella and the other staff on the ward, even though at times they were stretched beyond limits. I witnessed many mothers being helped by Bella in both the Treasure Island ward and Victoria ward.
The breastfeeding classes provided excellent advice and addressed concerns the many mothers had. As a 1st time mother I was unable to breastfeed due to the lack of support, time and advice given by the Hospital in Brent. These were all provided at Barnet.
I suffered from post-natal depression after the birth of my first child and strongly believe that if it had not been for Bella and the other midwives and nurses, I am sure I would have suffered once again.!!
Two months post birth, I am still grateful for the continued advice genuine support given by Bella. She is an asset to your organisation.
Speaking as a qualified accountant and understanding the need to meet targets and budgets, I strongly believe that cost savings could be made elsewhere, avoiding the termination of an essential service enabling healthy bonding between mother and baby to take place.
I trust the chief executive and budget holders to make the only sensible choice and keep a well-informed nutrionalist like Bella Dale at the hospital.
Kind Regards

| 32 | Deborah Hughes | The government is concerned about the low percentage of breastfeeding mothers in the UK compared with other EU countries. Breastfeeding is not always easy and it is only due to the existence of support like this that many women are able to persevere. This post is vitally important if more women are to successfully breastfeed and should not be cut. |
| 33 | Anonymous | Breast feeding support is a right for all new mothers and should be encouraged with help from an understanding caring and knowledgeable professional. This post is a must and should not be cut or it's value ignored. |

| 35 | Suzanne Cockburn | I believe this is a crucial support service that should be offered more widely and certainly not reduced |

| 38 | Anonymous | Given the high profile the government gives to breastfeeding it seems a backward step to axe a specialist post promoting and enabling breastfeeding. |
| 39 | Kelly Moss | I gave birth to my son in February 2006 at Barnet General Hospital. Bella's help and advice were invaluable to me in those first few months , and still are today 7 months later!
I know numerous mum's for whom Bella's expertise has proved a great support, and I'm disgusted that the axing of such an important resource is even being considered. |
