If as a Bradford City fan you would back a supporters takeover of the football club please sign this petition. This is a genuine request and should the response be sufficient, I will ensure that steps are taken in order to achieve this aim. To give examples of the money that could be raised by supporters, if 10,000 fans (our approximate current home attendance) were prepared to put forward £100 each this would raise £1 million in order to buy the club. If 30,000 fans (the number of Bradford City fans in attendance at the Wembley play off final in 1996) put forward £100 each, this would raise £3 million, enough to not only buy the club but also assemble a team capable of achieving promotion and climbing the Football League. There are many clubs around the world owned by supporters, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and all German clubs. There are also several fan owned clubs in England including AFC Wimbledon, Brentford & Exeter City. Following 10 years of decline from the days in the Premier League between 1999 & 2001, including 3 relegations and now what is our 5th year in League Two, along with a lack of any wealthy investors stepping forward to "save" the club, I believe that the only realistic way forward is for the supporters of Bradford City to take ownership of the club by way of share investment and in doing so be able to vote on major decisions such as managerial appointments / dismissals, player signings and possibly even team selection. Please sign this petition if you support this idea, and if "shares" were to be £10 each please indicate the number of shares that you might be prepared to purchase. Showing your support for this petition will hopefully be the first step towards Bradford City fans & supporters owning our beloved club, making history in the process and protecting the existence of the club for future generations of supporters to come.
