We, the undersigned have enjoyed and promoted Brooklyn Brewery products for years. Unfortunately we now feel compelled to boycott all Brooklyn Brewery products because our once-loved neighborhood brewery has taken a step toward corporate dominance of the Coney Island neighborhood by agreeing to displace the venerable and famous Ruby's Old Tyme Bar & Grill on with one of their own beer halls. With so many other choices for locally brewed Brooklyn beers including Spuyten Duyvil, Coney Island Brewing Company and Kelso, we can no longer support a company who shows so little regard for New York City history. We feel that Brooklyn Brewery is using its nationally-derived revenues to displace a small neighborhood business. Although Ruby's has been in business since 1934, they apparently cannot compete against a company with such relatively large capitalization. We feel that our once beloved Brooklyn Brewery should make room for Ruby's in their Coney Island development plans and possibly feature Brooklyn Brewery products in Ruby's. If Brooklyn Brewery either displaces Ruby's or pulls out of their planned development then we the undersigned will have no other choice but to continue our boycott of their community-unaware management, regardless of the high quality of their product.
