Sixty-two years after the creation of Israel, nations continue to refuse recognition of the Jewish state. Today, there is a world-wide campaign to boycott Israel for its part in Palestinian suffering. This campaign cannot succeed and it is our obligation as humanitarians and decent people to fight it. Israel has accepted the "Two State Solution" several times throughout its history and before. From the 1930s when Jews were ready to accept a tiny sliver of land, to the post victory of the 1967 War, to the Camp David Accords in 2000-2001 and finally until today. It is the refusal of the Arab World and Palestinian leadership to accept a Jewish State for what it is and not what it does which is the real impediment to peace. Israelis are at the forefront of medical technology helping to save lives throughout the World, including the Arab and Muslim World. Should Israeli institutions which lead the fight to cure cancer be boycotted? Within the conflict, does it make sense to divest and harm one side and not another. the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions campaign does not acknowledge progress. It has condemned all Israeli and Palestinian cooperation. It has forced the end to educational, cultural, and political partnerships. "BDS" isn't offered as a means to encourage or force Israel to create peace. BDS, much like Hamas, calls for the distortion of Israel's image in the World as a progressive step towards the destruction of the Jewish State. This is not a step in the way of tolerance, this is not a step in the way of peace. Please support Israel, please support peace, call for cooperation and the end to acceptance of BDS.
