Name: Joette Hartman on Mar 30, 2006Comments: The animals perform because they are afraid not to. Baby elephants are ripped from their mothers at a very young age and their spirit is broken immediately to prepare them for a LONG life of agony. The fact is, animals do not naturally ride bicycles, stand on their heads, balance on balls, or jump through rings of fire. To force them to perform these confusing and physically uncomfortable tricks, trainers use whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks, and other painful tools of the trade.Flag

Name: Ralph Casperson on Mar 31, 2006Comments: In the Roman Circus, either the performers or animals were killed as part of the "entertainment". Today, the performers survive the perfomances quite well but the animals still suffer. In 2500 years the one constant is the fact that the circus reflects the morality of the audiences it entertains and reflects the human spirit. Think before you buy a ticket.Flag

Name: Jeffery L. Termini on Apr 3, 2006Comments: Animals in entertainment is out dated and ought to be abolished. Promotors need to realize we are now living in the 21 century. We teach out children its wrong to abuse animals. The circus is one of the biggest venues of institutionalized cruelty. It must be stopped! Any circus could do very well at the box office without the use of animals. There are many circuses that have already made the change. Ringling Bros. needs to get with the times. GO ANIMAL FREE!Flag
