BOYCOTT BEN CARSON'S BOOKS AND SPEECHES IN ATLANTA
We encourage black Adventists and other concerned Christians to boycott Dr. Ben Carson's sermon at The Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church for this Saturday, July 20, 2013. Instead, we encourage them to meet in a park and pray for the soul of Dr. Carson and for God to make him more sympathetic to the downrodden of our society. They should also pray for racial healing throughout Georgia after the Trayvon Martin verdict. We the undersigned pledge to boycott the books and upcoming speeches of Dr. Ben Carson. Why should we continue to make him wealthy through purchasing his books and paying to hear him speak when he publicly ignores Americans who are in desperate need of help during these difficult economic times? His views do not reflect the philosophies of Ellen G. White, the modern day prophet of The Seventh-day Adventist Church of which he is a devout member. All her writings reflect that she was a true champion of the poor and downtrodden. The reason are listed below: Dr. Carson showed utter disrespect for the first African American President of the United States at a recent Prayer Breakfast by making this bipartisan event a partisan one. His untimely remarks were made in front of President Barack Obama. He should apologize to the President immediately. The incident is reminiscent of the shouted remarks Congressman Joe Wilson who disrespected the President at a State of the Union Speech. His divisive rhetoric has made the country weaker. With the sequestration now in effect, this country needs to join in bipartisan prayers to save this country from financial disaster. He calls himself a Christian, but opposes Obamacare that would give 40 more million people adequate healthcare. We hope that he will review the Golden rule of the Bible. He and Justice Clarence Thomas both benefitted from affirmative action programs, but are opposed to extending it to other minorities. He supports the unfair and racist agenda of Republicans who worked to dilute the Voting Rights Act making it difficult for poor and minorities to vote. He attacks the food stamp program, but grew up in the ghetto and more than likely benefitted from this federal program. Dr. Carson seems to have forgotten that all his blessings come from God and he should be more than willing to reach back and help the less fortunate of our society We invite concerned Adventists and people of all faiths to join in this noble crusade for justice. We will vigorously oppose him if he decides to run for President of the United States where the office holder is required to represent not only the wealthy, but the middle class and downtrodden of the American Society. We urge all signers of this petition to pray that God will touch the heart of this great surgeon and make him more sensitive to the needs of his fellow man. God gave him the wealth and God can take it away. Dr. Carson, we will pray without ceasing for the Holy Spirit to anoint you with a deeper spirit of altruism. Don’t forget the golden rule as you retire. YOU SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES NOW. Rocky Twyman, Founder Pray at the Pump Movement Rlt5401@yahoo.com
