Just when the National Hockey League was penetrating markets it had never dared to enter before, the lockout came around and has seriously killed any hopes of expansion that they had.

From new fans to local economies, the lockout has already done it's damage on it's already shaky infrastructure not only in the states, but in Canada as well.

The greed of the NHL/NHLPA is an absurdity to the sport that could have been worked out behind the scenes during a Gentleman's Agreement.

IT IS OUR REQUEST THAT THE FANS OF THE NHL BOYCOT THE FIRST GAME OF THE POTENTIAL 2012-2013 SEASON IN PROTEST OF THE ONGOING LOCKOUT.

We know some of us are season ticket holders. Some of us get comp tickets. Some of us work for the organization. It's absurd to think that no one will show up to the first game.

If you DO find you self at the game, WE REQUEST THAT YOU SIT OUT THE FIRST PERIOD OF THE FIRST GAME OF THE NHL SEASON. Come late. Enjoy dinner in the arena. Keep the concessioners at work.

We have been embarrassed as hockey fans. Let the empty seats speak volumes. Without the fans, there is no NHL.

Let's make sure they'll always remember that.
