Name: Judy A. Tupy on Oct 8, 2012Comments: We pay taxes to have these roads maintained. When my husband and I were looking for a house to buy, we made sure that we bought one on a public, rather than private, road because we did not want the expense of having to maintain a road. Public mean paid for out of our taxes.Flag

Name: JUDITH STEVENS on Oct 8, 2012Comments: It's obvious that the County Commissioners do not listen to the unincorporated Boulder County property owners because the Commissioners/County have nothing to gain by understanding and supporting a group which is not organized, has no power, and is a minority within their overall responsibility.Flag

Name: Miriam And Wally Allen on Oct 8, 2012Comments: In addition to the above well stated letter We add the county decided in aprox 1995 to end the maintence of our roads but never told us and kept getting our tax money. This is fraud. We have been here for 40 plus years with the same origional road and are trying to sell our house and the potiental buyers are turned off by the unknown fact that they may face an unknown assesment to fund a new road. This has affected our ability to sell as well as may other sellers on the above County roads and I hear that those sellers may start a lawsuit for the reduced value of the property worth. We don't care what your problems are we paid the taxes and want our roads pavedFlag

Name: Leon Tupy on Oct 9, 2012Comments: your points are right on---sub division roads should be on the same par with other county rodads. ie Apple Way Rd in Lyons with very few residents and a county road as good as Hwy 36. Way too much money going to social services that attract people from all over the county to come here for freebies. Sub division roads are a Boulder County corruption. Compare our school use with the city of Boulder and we'll have perfect roads and money back.Flag

Name: Don R. Sherwood on Oct 9, 2012Comments: The County Commissioners, in the dark of night, arbitrarily changed the definition of "road maintenance", yet continued to tax us and spend the money on their pet projects. The change was made via the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan. The BVCP was prepared by a Planning Commission appointed by the County Commissioners, then approved by the County Commissioners, but who claim they had nothing to do with the change! Such chutzpa! Had the Commissioners fulfilled their legal obligation to maintain our roads, instead of a new bill of $50 million, it would have cost only $1.5 million per year - out ot a nearly $300 million annual budget! Talk about penny wise and pound foolish!Flag

Name: Aaron on Oct 11, 2012Comments: It is unjustified to pay the same property taxes in our subdivision that I paid when I lived Boulder proper without the same services and benefits. My taxes should be used to benefit the community but also I should see an equal dispbursemnt of that benefit as someone who pays similar taxes but lives in an area subject to maintinence. Equal taxes should mean equal services and benefitsFlag

Name: Barry Friedlander on Oct 11, 2012Comments: Couldn't agree more with the content of the petition. Obviously in other than my opinion, our government representatives have violated their oath, promises, and guardianship of the funds and properties that they agreed to previously. Now having spent and mismanaged our tax monies on other areas, they search for new ways to tap the well of the community for more funds. Very Inappropriate & Unethical!Flag
