Comments: Not only do we need to work on changing the formula, but we must work together to reduce dependence on the property tax as the major vehicle for school funding in NJ.

Comments: Hobbling the schools in this way will NOT keep tax rates down - quite the opposite - it will instead make our community less desirable and so contribute to value erosion of the residential tax base - making taxes even higher.

Comments: Our property values are a reflection of our schools. Voting for the separate proposals not only help our children but they protect our property values.

Comments: This is a critical moment in our district and town's evolution. If this is to continue to be an attractive place to live, we must have strong schools. Don't blow it.

Comments: I have been working and volunteering every day for 5 years at Seth Boyden, one of our district's neediest school. Our students and teachers need and deserve everything we can possibly give them -- and more! Please help all of our children by voting to continue what we have. We have already lost too many things from previous budget cuts. We've also lost many wonderful hard-working parents teachers to other competitive districts. Those of us staying here will suffer with what's left if anything is cut. Enough is enough. No more cuts! Instead of voting against our special question, please consider joining together to petition the state for more money. Its time we get our fair share!

Comments: I've watched my taxes go from 5,500 to 10,500 (2003) in less than 7 years for a 3 bdr, 1 bath house in a so-so neighborhood. And no doubt they'll go over 11K this year. HOWEVER, to expect the school kids to suffer b/c the state/county can't reasonably appropriate/secure money for tax relief, is WRONG. Please do not compromise our schools!

Comments: it is extremely short sited to hold a hard line and not fund this separate proposal. most families if given the choice would pay a bit more taxes rather than move or send their children to private school. these will be their alternatives as the schools go down the tubes!!how can you talk about having excellent schools with out music, art, enrichment, project ahead, etc.
