On April 22, 2010 the House of Representatives of the State of Florida adopted House Resolution 9069 urging the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee to issue a commemorative postage stamp of THE BORINQUENEERS of the 65th Infantry Regiment “as a means by which the American public might gain an increased awareness of the Borinqueneers’ extraordinary service to our nation.” The Resolution further stated: “Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to Governor Luis Fortuño, Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, to the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee of the United States Postal Service, and to John E.
