Name: Joanne Esposito on Oct 26, 2008Comments: Stephen Bonura is one of the most ethical and caring persons I know. This is evidenced in all areas of his life including his job as a policeman. The Chief and the Mayor & Town Board should be as honest and recognize the underhanded power grab this situation really is!Flag

Name: Una Burke on Oct 26, 2008Comments: I hope the Pleasantville Police Dept consider what they have done and reinstate Detective Sgt Bonura. It takes alot of courage to stand up and do the right thing in speaking out against unfair practices in work. Law enforcement should not be punished when they are only trying to protect the community.Flag

Name: Paul Russo on Oct 26, 2008Comments: I think this is such a conspiracy and a case of railroading a very hard working man. The Pleasantville Police Department should be ashamed of the situation. The town board members and mayor should be ashamed of their actions. I hope the right people are punished for what they have done here.Flag

Name: Maria ODonnell on Oct 26, 2008Comments: It is a shame that an officer who feels so frustrated with the revolving door of our criminal system and sees ONE person arrested and been let out time and time again out on the streets to commit more crimes, causing taxpayers more monies to take him to trial is penalized for pointing out the way the courts are coddling these prisoners and career criminals. So now we are going to penalize this officer, possibly fire him and have him lose the means to support his family and lose his medical benefits, and we take the side and pat on the back and give an attaboy to a career criminal. Nice going to the Pleasantville PD - SHAME ON YOU, Mayor and Chief Charlietti.Flag

Name: D. Haskel on Oct 26, 2008Comments: I have known Stephen Bonura for more than 15 years. During this entire period of time, I have never seen or known him to do something that was not in the best interest of the public. He always maintained the highest level of integrity. It appears that he is being treated unjustly for exercising his freedom of speech while trying to protect the residents of Pleasantville and those who pass thru the village.Flag

Name: Jennifer Khalaf on Oct 26, 2008Comments: This is completely outrageous - people should be more concerned with the fact that a repeat offender has been allowed to prawl the streets of Pleasantville because he knows he can exchange information for freedom. Sgt. Bonura should be reinstated... the department has already lost one great police officer over this ridiculous incident, they should be fighting to not lose another.Flag
