604 Raja SwamyMr. Bollinger's behavior was like that of a high school bully. He brought shame to Columbia University and to himself (but he probably doesn't give a hoot about the latter).
605 AnonymousI am a student in Georgia Institute of Technoogy, but I totally support SIPA students' action. I wish that media did not have so much powre on you that you lost your respect and manner towards a world leader. This is not making me proud as an American. I request proper follow up and explanation.

607 Elizabeth GibsonI am embarassed and saddened by the rude introduction to an invited guest to a university of known and respected academic standing. An important opportunity to build coherence was dismissed to save political face. We all lose greatly with such ignorance. eg

609 Iman BorazjaniI'm not a SIPA student but I support this petition. I believe the language you used was inappropriate. Specially the remarks at the end of your speech seemed like a political statement from the Bush administration and not an academic debate.

628 Elizabeth Louise RichardsonIn a time when diplomacy between the United States and Iran is of the utmost importance, Mr. Bollinger embodied the arrogance of America. I hope he will accept accountability for his actions.
629 AnonymousI am not a student or alumna of Columbia university, but as an academic support the petition and ask for an apology from President Bollinger who has tarnished the name of intelectualls.

631 AnonymousI am not affiliated with SIPA, but I am a colleague. You clearly crossed the line of civil behavior and disgraced us. On the other hand, your guest was very gracious and kind in the face of your numerous insults. It will take a lot of effort to repair our reputation as the result of the damage you caused in the name of "Academic Freedom."

633 AnonymousAs a MPA student at Baruch College's School of Public Affairs, I fully support the SIPA students' call that President Bollinger should attempt to try to repair the dire effects of his actions.

644 Jes RichardsonI visited Iran in May with Global Exchange's Citizen's Diplomacy Delegation and I found the Iranian people to be gracious and welcoming. I was deeply offended by President's Bollinger's introductory remarks. It is my hope, for the sake of a more peaceful world, that he will be courageous enough to apologize.

648 Leslie AngelineI felt so ashamed when you introduced President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to your University. How could you invite him to speak and then be so rude and disgraceful to a guest of our country? I am ashamed of you President Bollinger! I have just returned from visiting Iran and was treated with such warmth, kindness and generosity! You need a lesson by the Iranian people on how to treat another human being. Shame on you!
