Comments: No Truck Stops! Eighteen years ago, when we chose to establish lifetime roots in Boerne, I never dreamed I would be signing a petition like this to protest a truck stop in my front yard. As our elected officials that represent the citizens of Boerne and Kendall County, please preserve the integrity of our beautiful Hill Country community, protecting the environmental elements and the cherished quality of life in which we have invested.

Comments: I live within the city limits and strongly oppose this truck stop as all of the concerns listed are serious concerns for our families, children and our community as a whole. Revenue should not come before the safety or well being of our children and should not come before depletion of our city resources.

Comments: I am a resident of Kendall county who lives near the proposed truckstop site. I am opposed to the truckstop because of the very real potential of increased crime and risks to the safety of area residents, noise, air and water pollution, increased traffic and lack of adequate roads in the area, damage to the asthetics of Boerne and the damage to the general quality of life of this city and the county. There is already a LUV truckstop just 12 miles up the road in Comfort.

Comments: Boerne doesn't ned a truck stop. We are still a small town even though we are growing. A truck stop is not what we need to help us grow. It will only be an eye soar and bring unwanted trouble to our community!

Comments: The current Boerne Zoning Ordinance does not include the tools necessary to properly address the issues a "Travel Center" creates. Until such time as the City has these tools in place there should be no steps taken to facilitate this proposed project. Absent a change to the Ordinance, Council and P&Z will have their hands tied and they will have to move this proposal forward as it will be in conformance with the zoning. Table this effort, fix the ordinance and then reconsider. A provision in our the Ordinance for "Special Use" Zoning Districts will allow P&Z to place appropriate restrictions on a case be case basis when faced with unanticipated uses like this. State law requires a city to have a zoning classification for all legal land uses. A Specila Use Zoning District is the normal/most common answer to this dilemma as the restrictions can be tailored to the use and circumstance. Right now, in Boerne, the "catch-all" zoning classification is "I" which is the zoning for the Business Park. It does not anticipate this use specifically but the City has determined that a truck stop complies. I'd sure like to help this effort. dap2. 830 377 5875 203 Kendall Oaks Drive

Comments: 1818 Cordillera Trace, 78006 outside city limits. How does this fit into our area development plan. You will also grant sign criteria easements which are critical to our communitys image. Delay annexation of the property until an ordinance can be passed that prohibits any future truck stop/travel center developments within the City of Boerne or its Extraterritorial Jurisdiction
