Comments: no one protested when they built the apartments/retirement comm. on Fabra St. (said there would not be that much traffice from them) but there has been a marked increase in traffice and trash and foot traffic on Fabra St. in the last 2+ years. So why should I be infavor of adding more traffic to the north end of Boerne? Why doesn't someone build a senior community on THAT piece of land instead?

Comments: 106 Bird Song - inside city limits. I perused every comment before mine and noted some of the more cogent as follows: 46,74,78,117,120,165,166,251,259,319,337,342,360,371,386,389,481, and 546. These folks do a great job outlining the reasons for dropping this UNSAFE proposal out of our minds forever. I am compelled to reiterate the following, I really would feel quite a bit LESS SAFE knowing that the possibility of a hazmat emergency in my backyard has just been exponentially increased. I personally don't see how allowing this type of a business into our community would allow Boerne to maintain the highest standards of public safety. Is safety not one of the highest priorities we entrust to our elected officials? The permanent disfigurement of the North Main area is not worth maybe a hundred low wage jobs and all the other negatives cited in this petition. I have no doubt my friends in the city council will act in all of our best interests, and as our elected leaders have performed their evaluation of this business opportunity with due diligence they can inform Flying J "Thanks but no thanks!"

Comments: I convinced my parents to move to Boerne with me and my family last year(from Houston) to retire. I told them what a special town it was, the low crime, the wonderful people, the great schools etc. We spent our life savings renovating an abandoned house and made it our dream home where we had planned to live the rest of our lives. Had I known of the plan to build a truck stop in Boerne we would never have moved here and invested here. If a truck stop somehow gets built anywhere in this town we will be forced to move out of Boerne. What a shame that this would even be considered. Since I am new here I dont know who to trust. It just seems very strange that a city with so much going for it would not fight to protect it at whatever cost, even if that meant delaying annexation of land that the city wants. If Flying J needs the property to be annexed WHY IS THE CITY ANNEXING IT? If annexed they will have something to fight for. Dont give them a reason to want that land. Please listen to the many voters who have expressed their opposition to annexing this property. If it does get built somehow i dont think people will soon forget how it all happened.

Comments: I fully agree with all concerns related to a truck stop located within the Boerne community. I suggest our City Council members visit these destinations to experience the subcultures that exist. Noise, air, water pollutions are serious concerns although I firmly believe a radical culture change in our community will stem from this development. No amount of tax revenues are worth the cost of our community. Please vote measures against this development and enact ordinances to protect our future.

Comments: I would not like to have the Flying J in our community. Our traffic situation is already packed enough on main street without the extra lost 18 wheeler making its way down main street and hwy 46. The amount of inconveniences and downsides to having a truck stop in a small town are numerous. Example prostitution, noise levels, deisel fuel and fumes, light pollution, cibolo creek pollution, transient traffic etc.. I live off Amman Road and it is already difficult enough to navigate traffic during school hours and special main street events. It took 1 hour to get to the parade recently, imagine trucks using 46 as a shortcut tot he flyin J in the mix
