Comments: I don't think a truck stop in Boerne or in close proximity to Boerne is needed nor beneficial to our city. There is a truck stop in Comfort which is only a few miles up IH-10 which is available to truckers. I think the Mayor and City Council should do all it can do to prevent a truck stop from being built in our area.

Comments: 515 James Street, Boerne, TX. 78006 I live in the Boerne City Limits. I travel IH35 South through Von Ormy where they have both Pilot and Love's truck stops. These are relatively new properties tied to the Eagle Ford Shale work but both are dirty and littered with trash. Extreme amounts of traffic. I do not even stop at them due to their condition. Comments: Please don't allow this to happen! I just moved here a few months ago because of Boerne's small, quaint little town atmosphere. A truck stop will cheapen this adorable small town. If ever permitted for that area it will only get nasty and NEVER go away. Please stop it before it starts!

Comments: 209 Windsor Dr. Boerne, TX 78006 I live inside the city limits of Boerne, TX. I moved from Seguin to Boerne 13 months ago. Seguin has two truck stops, both of which cause horrendous traffic problems, noise pollution, air pollution, and crime. I hate to see Boerne subject itself to these problems.

Comments: I live inside the city limits. It seems obvious that they had the press conference in order to stop the opposition. They need to get the property annexed because Flying J won't build without city water and sewer. If their claim is true, that a truck stop isn't allowed, why didn't the landowners withdraw their request? The owners will have to extend utilities after it's annexed, so it seems like they'd find another buyer before proceeding. But the annexation is still on and city staff recommends passing it BEFORE changing the zoning ordinance. Here's the problem...if this property is annexed and Flying J buys it, the truck stop could be a done deal. This happened in New Haven Indiana. New Haven changed their ordinance to restrict truck stops AFTER Flying J had already bought land there. Flying J sued the zoning board and won. The court found that the zoning ordinance which was in place at the time of purchase applied. I think the plan is to (1) annex the property (2) sell it to Flying J (3) change the ordinance to appease the public (4) Flying J sues and wins. This gives city officials an out - they "tried" to fight it but lost. And Boerne gets a truck stop...their goal from the beginning. They've already changed the Master Plan from Mixed Use to Highway Commercial (Dec 11th). New apartments included to provide housing near future businesses. City council should vote NO on this annexation.

Comments: I live inside Boerne city limits. This developments threatens to negatively impact Boerne more than any development I can think of. The feel of the town and the reason s people are attracted to come here will change overnight. The though of a truckstop at this location is awful... bad enough that I would seriously consider moving.

Comments: Boerne TX is a beautiful and quaint community that is a wonderful place to visit. A Huge commercial truck stop would bring in a very bad seed for the community. A back eye of sorts! I would question visiting in the future is the city allowed this type of cesspool business to enter and damage the history and attractiveness of its community.
