I have a sister who regular visits the solarium salons and it freightens me mainly b/c her lack of understanding of the dangers, and the long term impact. Yes her tan looks great but the generation Y just don't get the long term affects that is causing their bodies.Flag

I think at some stage we, as indiviuals need to take responsibility of our choices and we can't always ban things that are bad for us. ie one in 3 people suffer from a fructose intolerance which if they have fruit for a long period over many years can eventually end up with osteoporosis (majority of people don't know that they have it) it doesn't mean we ban all fruit with fructose. Overwieght people with obesity can suffer from cardiac arrest it doesn't mean we close all the cake shops - where does it endFlag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 1, 2008Comments: What's the point of risking your life for a tan What do you get in the end anyway Say you did go to the solarium, and got a pointless tan to impress other people. Is impressing other people or even yourself, worth losing your life. People are not aware of the deadly risk they may put themselves in, so banning it all over the world will help save many peoples lives. You could always get a spray tan, with no risk of cancer and look great. Which would you chooseFlag
