1119 DubLegend Bob Marley stood for everything that was righteous and preached peace even in manic periods in Jamaica. His music is still loved today and he is the man responsible for putting Jamaica and reggae on the map!If anyone should be a national hero for Jamaica then this great figure fits the bill and deserves to be repaid by the nation of JA.

1136 AnonymousI haven't heard as much as two words of sense spoken together coming out to the Jamaican music scene since Bob Marley passed away. Where are the redemption songs for African and all the people who struggle daily to uplift the cause of the downtrodden? Commercialism and slackness has replaced them with trash for the minds of the youth. If Bob Marley were British he would have been knighted years ago. His song "One love" was voted "song of the millennia "(One thousand years). And so many of his other songs are known and celebrated all over the globe as a credit to the fabric of the Jamaican strugle and culture as world changers and as a people who will stand up to the super powers and say "So Jah Seh". What more could qualify Bob Marley as a national Hero? Bon

1150 Nehanda LindseyMost definitely! He was not recognized enough by his countrymen while he was alive, and for someone who put this tiny island on the map, in a positive way, so that now wherever I go, people KNOW where I'm from, we MUST honor him. Peace and Love! Jah Bless!
