| 353 | Dan | Can you not find anything better to do!!!! |
| 354 | Brandon Niemantsverdriet | THIS LAW WOULD DISRUPT THE LIVES OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. I MANAGE A PET STORE AND THIS WILL HURT MY STORE. |
| 355 | Roger Carter | I am opposed to this proposed ban on boas and pythons. While there is a problem in Florida, I think that Florida should take care of it's own problems instead of forcing their idea of a "solution" on the rest of America. |
| 356 | Bill Minnick | I have been a reptile keeper, collector, and breeder for more than fifty years. I also hold a MA from Indiana University with a major in Psychology and minor in Zoology.
I am totally against any ban on Boas and Pythons. In all the years I have kept them, I have never once had a problem. I have never had an escape nor injury.
There is little justification for any further regulation of these species, in my opinion. Let each city or state create their own specific regulations and issue appropriate permits.
Bill Minnick. |

| 359 | Jonathan Maude | PLS do not ban the reptiles that lots of Americans love. (and Canadians) If you do, us Canadians wont be able to buy some of the best snakes on the market. This is a market that is growing and should be regulated but not eliminated! |
| 360 | Anonymous | Why ban these? They have done no harm to anyone. Is it beacuse of some pet owner let one go? This is not right. |
| 361 | marcos clement | |
| 362 | Robin Bryant | This will not be right. Please do not do this to us. |

| 364 | Joshua Cartwright | To Whom It May Concern:
I find it obsurd to try to place Python, Boa, and Eunectes genera in an
Injurious "special" category. If this were to happen, you would put a tremendous
strain on hobbyists and the economy alone. If you're going to make an "Injurious
Animal" List, you're going to have to place dogs, cats, and birds on that list as
well. The only animal I know of that hasn't bitten a person would be a fish and
some of those still bite.
I've been bitten by my mother's Amazon Parrot and Bordeaux Mastiff hundreds
of more times than my ball python. He's never hurt anyone, and never will. Are
you really going to put this strain on us herptoculturists so that the market
providers eventually stop supplying food for our purchase as well? Do you really
want to starve my python? Don't you think that's a bit extreme?
You're probably motivated to do this based on the one or two boa attacks fed by
the media. Isn't that the fault of the owner's though? How can you blame the pet
for faulty ownership? How many boa/python attacks do you hear about? Now,
think about how many pitbull attacks you hear about. It seems to me like you're
trying to hurt something that's never hurt you. If it ain't broke, why are you trying
to fix it?
Do you think Pedigree and Iams would continue making dog food if you banned
interstate transport of dogs? How would that effect the market? Dog food would
become unbelieveably expensive over the years and in decades stores would stop
selling it because no one was buying. I say decades because of how many
people own dogs. Dogs are a bad example. However, think about how many
reptiles are out there. Don't you understand that that time period of decades is
now just a handfull of years?
Thank you for taking comments from those of us who care. I really hope that
you don't take our rights away from us and hurt all of these precious little animals
and their owners that love them so much.
Sincerely,
Medic Firefighter Joshua L. Cartwright |
| 365 | Tim Robbins | NO BAN! |
| 366 | Anonymous | What benefit will this provide. |
| 367 | Joshua Jakob | Whats next a ban on large dogs? So many of our freedoms have already been taken. Enough is enough!! |
| 368 | Shawn Shumaker | Hello,
As a member of the reptile hobbiest community I am appauled at this bill. I urge you to reconsider this and spend the tax dollars where it matters. Im sure most people would rather have you going after drug trafficers and gangs rather than snakes. Once again I urge you to reconsider. |

| 374 | Jason Gregory | let responsible people continue their hobby... |
| 375 | dustinlach | please stop the discrimination towards reptiles in specific, the hatred towards boas and pythons. their are more wild stray cats running around abundantly then any form of reptile in this country yet you don't ban cats.
their are many issues that need to be looked at on a state by state basis, this is not a federal or nationwide concern but should be a state to state issue. the point is that the problems in florida with the everglades is part irresponsible owners and part over hype and peoples hatred towards reptiles, people see 3 snakes and their is all of a sudden 30,000 wild killers on the lose. a nation wide ban is not the answer, or you will have the judicial system filled with reptile owners and their lawyers and we will fight on Washington dc's lawn. ill be there for sure, this is a invasion of our rights, many peoples family income comes from their love of boas and pythons from breeders to cage builders, light makers and bedding people, you arnt affecting owners but the economy as a whole, peoples jobs will be affected by this to. their is no simple solution and the one that is proposed is an outrage.
lets work together to do something reasonable. |
| 376 | tammerson Shimmin | |
| 377 | William Schuchman | please leave the reptile/snake industry alone, how many millions of dogs and cats have to be put to sleep every year because of over crowding rescue centers and incredibly large amounts of immature owners. but yet you single out reptiles because of prejudices and misconceptions built up against them. there are millions of people who enjoy, and love there snakes and will be willing to go to great lengths to protect there right to own and care for them |
| 378 | Dan Lazar | This ban will hurt the serious hobbyists out there and will only lead to illegal possesion and trading of these genera. Please realize the impact that this ban would have on the responsible and committed hobbyists out there whom deserve this not. |
| 379 | Ryan Buckley | Rather then a simple "blanket" policy, a lazy mans attempt at regulation, how about attcking the problem at its source. Why should these reptiles be banned, why not simply regulated? Nothing extreme, nothing that would hit the market too hard, but enough to control the overabundance of "throw-away pets". Like banning the sale of wild caught reptiles. The fact is, this law is not going to stop those determined to transport these animals, just create more problems that already exist. |

| 391 | scott hankowski | I highly disagree with the banning of reptiles. Why would anyone want to do this? The future these animals hold in medicine and other fields yet discovered is limitless. To ban reptiles would be stupid. |

| 395 | Anonymous | Please do not ban the importation of Boa Constrictors and Pythons in the United States. Snakes are important to some people, and people have a job of breeding snakes and selling them. If they were not albe to transports snakes, then would be out of jobs. Please try to consider banning this law. Thanks you. |

| 399 | Rafal Domzalski | Instead of coming up with OBSERD bans, like some Comunist country....why not spend BAN campaign money on registry sheet/chip.
Lets see since we live in the new mil. And no longer are we hurling rocks at eachother....All a pet store would have to do is add a ID chip to a snake (charge 30$) and the snake is now registered with owner. When a wild snake is caught scan the chip and whoever lost it without reporting it would be responsible. If you ban the exotics all together, it will grow just like US POT sales. There will be leopard gecko dealers on the streets!. |
| 400 | Blake Molone | This is rediculous and many people depend on the captive breeding of pythons and boas as there income |
