A member of the River Terrace Apartments, Inc., board of directors resigned from the board in August. We feel it is in the best interest of the corporation to replace the director and restore the board back to seven members.

Therefore, we are petitioning that the open position be offered to the person who received the next highest number of shareholder votes during the annual election in June 2013.

The bylaws do not mandate the process by which an open position is to be filled. However, selecting the person who received the next highest number of votes is fair and reflects the will of the shareholders. We feel it is the most appropriate way to fill the position.

Over 70 shareholders have signed our paper and online petition in just a few days. We hope you will voice your support that the board take the most democratic route to fill the vacant board seat.
