Comments: Hi my son who is now 12 weeks, was diagnosed with hip dysplasia a few days old and he as had the double nappy and the harness, but this week we were told he would after undergo an operation and have a plaster cast fitted for 12 weeks at least and one of my many worries was parking and getting him and out of the car because with the harness I struggled many times and would search for spaces that I could park next to disabled parking so there was extra room one side, which is obviously not possible all the time and have panic and struggled to get my baby in safely and comfortably and without any damage to anyones property! a blue badge holder would definately relieve some of the many things that worry a parent who has a child with this condition and make life more accessible and comfortable for the child and the parents! Please take this seriously!

Comments: I am the father of a 4 yr old who was born with both hips dislocated. My family used to live in England but have since moved to Southern Ireland and have a blue disabled badge for parking in disabled spaces and have found it so much easier to get our daughter in and out of the car. My wife went through the carers association and got it quicker with there help. We think that this service should be made available to any parent /child that needs it as it is bad enough to find spaces when you have children and even harder when your child is in a hip spicas

Comments: My five month old daughter was disgnosed with developmental bilateral hip dsyplasia at birth and is now in her 2nd hip spika (week 7 of an initial 12) following her Pavlik harness. Trust me this would make it so much easier to take my 2 daughters to get out & about as much as possible!

Comments: We have exactly the same problem with the local authority in Newcastle Upon Tyne, how can blue badges not be avaialble to people who genuinely need them?

Comments: I would hate to put my lttle girl's recovery in jeopardy due to ignorant parking. Whenever I can't find a parent/child space, it is frustrating to see unused disabled spaces. When Maggie is in her cast, it will be even worse...

Comments: I am just starting the journey as my daughter has been diagnosed with a dislocated hip. I have concerns about everything including being able to get her in and out of the car. there are many times when i leave the car parked in a car park and can bearly get into it myself let alone once she will be in a spica cast! So i feel that any child who is in a cast or have any other issue that makes it difficult should be automatically issued with ine.
