| 2011 | sophie daws | I have the same problem my daughter is 6 and as dyspraxia and epilepsie she she has really bad muscle tone and because her muscles are so week she gets in pain and can only walk for about 5 mins before shes tierd and distressed which means i have to carry her also if she has a seizure in a shop and i have to carry her miles to the park as i cant use disabled bay it goes on and on I really hope you get the badge.

My nine month old daughter spent 16 weeks in a full spica which was extremely heavy and it is difficult to carry a child in this legs wide apart position. She is now in a brace in the same abduction position and we are unable to find anywhere that will loan us a pushchair wide enough, or chairs or any equipment of any sort! Gobowen Hospital where she is being treated do not have ANY equipment to loan to me for this period of 16 weeks whilst she is in a brace and this includes large pushchairs. The fact that parents are left to find large pushchairs and purchase equipment is another matter altogether.
Drug addicts receive free education, methodone, cannabis, support workers and needles from the NHS. Young children immobilised in plaster apparently don't count as important. |

| 2044 | sue Latham | I am a grandmother of eleanor who is 3 months and has just gone into a spica cast. I fully support your petition for a blue badge. I know Dr's sign blue badge forms too easily. The system is abused as are the parking spaces for both mother & baby as well as disabled. The age definately does need to be amended to include babies in spica casts. There is enough to cope with, My daughter has had to but a new car seat, new pram, bigger clothes to fit over the cast. People don't need the added hastle of wondering if they can get parked.
I actually have a blue badge myself, and i find it extremely annoying and worrying about getting parked. The supermarket spaces are the worst for abuse.

My daughter is about to spend 6 weeks in a hip spica, I will have no hesitation in using disabled car park spaces at the supermarket, she is more disabled than some people that have & abuse tha blue badge system. |

Maybe one of these pen pushers should have a go at getting a child in frog plaster out of a car with a half open door. |
