The Blood Unit just confirmed they are establishing a donation venue at the park. I am completely overwhelmed by this result and I know it only happened because you showed up to support the idea. Thank you for making this possible.

In England, around 8,000* blood transfusions are carried out every day, which is why there's always a need for blood donations.

Blood components have a short shelf life and predicting the demand can be difficult. By giving blood, every donor is contributing to a nation-wide challenge to provide life-saving products whenever and wherever they are needed.

With a large number of blood donors in the local area and on the Park, we are trying to persuade the Blood Unit to set up a for a donation venue here on the Park.

Birchwood Park is home to more than 165 organisations employing 6,000 people. We believe that Birchwood Park community can contribute greatly to meet the growing demand for blood and help treat patients in need across England.

We need your help to make this happen, please sign the petition to show your support to a donation day coming to the Park, we need to demonstrate how many people on the Park support this.

Help us ensure we have enough life-saving supplies.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how quickly this has taken off. It is clear that I underestimated just how many people here care about this cause because this momentum belongs entirely to you.

It would be ideal to have a blood donor session on Birchwood Park. I notice the next session is to be held at Statham Lodge which is 20 minutes away from the park and therefore not an option for most people who work here!

I am in full support of this, although I am not able to donate my own blood due to having diabetes. Well Done in getting the campaign this far!

Like many others commenting here I am a regular blood donor (between tats) and often have to leave work early to attend my donor sessions near home. Being able to "give an armful" during a work break would be ideal for me .

Great Idea! There used to be a couple of times a year when you could give blood in the Daten Club in Culcheth, and the Blood Service laid-on buses between Thompson House and the Daten Club. Not sure why that arrangement stopped.

I previously donated in Nottingham during lunch breaks. Since moving to Birchwood it has become significantly less convenient to make donations on a regular basis. Having a donation venue on Birchwood Park itself would make things significantly easier for myself, and also make it easier to invite colleagues who have not donated before to come along.

This is a no-brainer really. My father used to work on a manufacturing site with far fewer employees and they had regular blood banks on site.

Please let us have a blood bank as blood transfusions save so many lives.
