Blackhawk Bmx Park is an idea to build a new Bmx race track in the Waterloo area. The Cedar Valley has had many race tracks over the years and has a strong history in the sport. If you are not familiar with the sport of Bmx it is just like Motorcross Racing but with bicycles. It is a sanctioned sport with tracks all over the United States and Europe. In 2008 it was added as an Olympic sport. It is a very family oriented sport with riders of all ages. If your child is not into the more traditional sports this would be a good one to try. It helps build bicycle riding skills, gives a good workout, helps promote a healthy lifestyle and is loads of fun. All you need is a bmx bike, a helmet, a long sleeve shirt or jersery and the willingness to have fun.
