We, declare Friday, November 26, 2010 as “BLACK OUT FRIDAY.”  We commit to not making any purchases anywhere in the United States on this day.  We do this in protest of:

THE MISTREATMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Since President Obama announced his candidacy he has been maligned, slandered, and targeted unfairly by right wing nuts and their followers.  He has been challenged unfairly, characterized with vulgarity, and treated with the kind of deep disrespect to which no previous president was subjected to.  The treatment of our President has gone from offensive to ugly to downright dangerous.

POLICE TERRORISM

In recent months, police officers have murdered unarmed black males:  Oscar Grant III in Oakland, CA. and Pace University student, Danroy Henry, in New York.  Both cases involve shooting of young black males who were unarmed.  African-American males are more at risk of being killed by police.

Since President Obama took office, there are increases in inequitable treatment of African-Americans.  There is a growing blatant disregard for the lives of African-American.

WE ARE STANDING UP AGAINST ALL THESE MALICIOUS ACTS! WE MAY NOT HAVE AN IMPACT AT THE POLLING PLACES BUT WE DO HAVE BUYING POWER THAT IS GREATER THAN ANY OTHER GROUP OF CITIZENS.  WE HEREBY COMMIT TO SHUTTING IT DOWN ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2010.  WE WILL NOT PATRONIZE ANY AMERICAN BUSINESS FROM SUN UP UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING (November 28, 2010).  WE DO HAVE A VOICE & WE WILL BE HEARD!!!!
