    Comments: I birthed my baby at home with excellent outcomes & strongly object to this blatant attempt at control by the AMA that goes against evidence that homebirth is a safe & viable option. I would consider legislation a violation of my human rights.

    Comments: Having just witnessed the incompetence of "standard care" for a hospital birth, I am absolutely convinced that home births should be the standard of care. Everything done by the physicians and staff were leading the birth down the path of yet another unnecessary c-section. Please read the research and make decisions based on evidence, not on the economics of hospitals. With our health insurance skyrocketing, the low cost of home birth should be embraced rather than dissuaded. I do not want my premiums increased simply because too many unnecessary c-sections are performed because of mis-informed interventions.

    Comments: I think it is absolutely deplorable that you want to try to make home birthing illegal. READ THE RESEARCH!!!! Then, change the way you manage birth in the hospital. If you want women to birth there, you will need to make it a heck of a lot safer. I am not giving you my body so that you can rip my baby out. Forget it.

    Comments: ACOG has released a firm statement against all home births, and gave no scientific evidence for their medical statement. I fully support home-birth as a healthy alternative to hospital birth, and I fully support a woman's choice to become educated about birth, choose her care provider, and to choose her birth setting. I fully support a woman's ability to choose all of the above in an effort to escape the barrage of interventions offered/forced on her in a traditional medical setting; and resulting improved health of herself and her baby in the postpartum period.

    Comments: As a VBAC mother who had two very safe, successful home births, I know that home birth is a safe and sane alternative to a medical birth in a hospital. Look at the statistics for home births. Contrast them to the statistics for hospital births, and you'll be tempted to outlaw hospital births. They are MUCH riskier for both Mom and baby.
