I did have a drug free labor but nothing else was as I wanted although there were NO complications... but I pushed almost lying down completely against my wishes. I am regretful that I did not walk out and have my baby in the parking lot. Realistically I wish I had a home birth.Flag

How dare any doctor tell a women what it is illegal for her to birth her child whichever way is healthiest and safest for her and that baby.Flag

What a healthy peaceful way for my son to enter the world. Give women the option to choose the type of care they need/want. I'll choose home birth every time.Flag

I would never dream of going to an OB/GYN unless there were risk factors in my pregnancy and even then, I would opt for A MIDWIFE be my primary caregiver.Flag

Name: Ashley Van Otterloo on Jul 12, 2011Comments: Losing a basic right to something as crucial as choosing to give birth in a way that's been proven comparably (or perhaps more) safe for low-risk women as hospital birth makes me question if our nation has truly retained it's rights to freedom. As a productive, working, university educated members of our country, we'd chose to leave the States to find true freedom before we'd stay and have our rights as parents taken from us. Please honor the mothers and fathers of our beautiful nation by maintaining our freedom!Flag

I wish I had walked out when my concerns were ignore. Every part of the birthing experience that I went through has left me with nothing but disappointment at how it went.Flag

Name: Alicia O'Dwyer on Aug 25, 2011Comments: Any low risk birth should have the option of being performed in a woman's own home by a certified midwife. This practice has gone on for centuries and promotes bonding for mother and child, and to squelch it in the name of physicians' financial gain is unconscionable. Please do the right thing and allow American women to continue to give birth at home, surrounded by those who love them.Flag
