AnonymousWomen should be better educated on the birth choices of their babies....home births should be supported and encouraged and c sections should be discouraged !!!
Melani B CaldwellIf women can choose to hace a C section at the publics expence, then they should be able to choose a home birth as well.
Heidi SiemerI passionately believe that women ought to be able to choose where and who they want for their births.
Catherine LieberknechtRead the medical literature, educate yourselves and your community about the safety and benefits of homebirth. Reproductive choice is a much bigger issue that abortion!

Courtney E. ShinaberryMany, many women are concerned about the possibility that Roe V. Wade might be repealed, but it seems far fewer women are aware that there is another, and perhaps even more insidious, threat to their reproductive freedom - the current legal prohibitions against midwifery and homebirthing. Keep ALL aspects safe and legal!

Iesha DeluneI had my baby girl at home and it was the most wonderful birthing experience of my life. I was supported by 3 midwives and a chiropractor, I was totally safe and my family were all there. I felt completely respected and that my partner and I were in control of the process. This should never be an option taken away from families.
Suzanna ChristisonHomebirth needs to be recognised as an important option for women to choose. The experience of giving birth is an incredibly important life event: it is not an illness or injury. People have the right to choose how they experience this event. We need to value the right of individuals to choose to birth at home.

Stacey MillerI had my first baby in a hospital and my second in a bath at home. It was the most wonderful experience ever and it angers me that doctors want to take that option away from women!

Beth WorkmanHow fortunate I was to give birth at home, to be the first person to touch my daughter, to kiss my husband in my sewing room while surrounded by a pool of water filled by my mother, and yes, to use my very own comfortable toilet somewhere in the process! I know all of these things contributed to my ease and I hope that any woman who wants to make this choice should not be hindered in any way... legally, financially, or socially.
Logan ForehandBirthing is not a medical procedure, it is a natural function. Most women have low risk births and do not require medical intervention. We need balanced choices for birth in this country, not "one-size fits all". It has only been in the last 70 years that the medical establishment (who, by the way, were predominantly men) took over childbirthing from women and institutionalized it. Infant mortality (IM) in this country today is HIGHER than a number of other industrialized nations. Most of those with lower IM have midwifery as an integrated part of preganancy/birthing. We MUST support natural birthing options for the welfare of our citizens!
