Name: Joan Stelling on Sep 13, 2007Comments: I agree. Besides not doing their job like fixing leaks in a timely matter, I question why restaurants are allowed to continue to serve water to every customer, whether they request it or not. Think of the amount of water that is tossed down the drain and the amount of water it takes to wash the glasses. Again, poor managementFlag

Name: Jane Hiles on Sep 13, 2007Comments: I come from the desert Southwest. Even in an area that received only 7-8 inches of rain per year we had a more stable water supply than Birmingham does with all its natural resources. The Birmingham Water Works is a poster child for mismanagement.Flag

Name: Kenneth L. Williams on Sep 13, 2007Comments: It's ludicrous that B'ham Water Works board "loses" about 1/4th of the water between the pumping station meters & the amount paid by meters. Any business that had a 25% shrinkage in inventory w/o explanation, w/o investigation, w/o taking any action would TAKE URGENT STEPS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.....instead of punishing customers by asking them to lose their landscaping due to a "water shortage". This PLUS the lack of PLANNING that keeps up with GROWING DEMAND deserves punishment fitting the crime.Flag
