Name: Sarah on Nov 13, 2007Comments: Last year I was off on placement, and have returned for my final year. I did come and visit my friends from my course who were sitting their final year exams in April 2007, and everyone of them was complaining about the exams being one after the other, how much stress they were under, and how demanding that week was, physically and mentally. I don't want to be in that same position in April when I have to sit my exams, so spreading the exams is a great idea.Flag

If exams are intended to test academic ability and learning capacity, surely it makes sense to allow a little breathing room to calm down in between and to avoid performance degradation caused by excess stress.Flag

Name: SY Mimi Poon on Nov 13, 2007Comments: It will definitely be doing good to spread the exam over a weekend. Bear in mind most of us are doing a BSc course in which 60% of our final year contributes to the whole degree is stressful enough. I realise that doing a degree at Imperial is stressful, but please listen to our voice.Flag

Name: Alison Crowther on Nov 13, 2007Comments: For many of us, the final year counts as 60% of our degree, with a huge weighting on these 4 exams. I think it's absolutely ludicrous that we're expected to sit these exams, that mean so much, in one short space of time, with no time to wind down from a tasking exam merely hours before we sit the next.Flag

Name: Vijitra Luang-In on Nov 13, 2007Comments: Thinking of having many exams in a row causes so much stress though you have a good revision , and when people are under stress, they are unlikely to perform as well as they should. Giving us some rooms to breathe will definitely help to de-stress and perhaps enhance students' performances, maybe we can beat Oxbridge next year.Flag
