If you live in Kirklees and would like your weekly grey bin collection returned or want to make sure that this weekly collection is not axed where you live then please sign this petition. Labour Greenhead Councillors said in their Rose Newsletter that they "Will save the weekly grey bin collection". Over a year on from this statement they have not fulfilled their promise as many households in Kirklees including the Ward they represent do not have the weekly grey bin collection. It also seems inevitable that many more households in the future will lose the weekly grey bin collection. Their cannot be any excuses for not returning this weekly collection because Labour run the Council and one of these Greenhead Councillors(Mehboob Khan) is the Leader of the Council. Mr Mehboob Khan and his fellow Greenhead Councillors have not said anything publicly about this important service in over a year. Yet Clr Khan is quoted as saying in the Huddersfield Examiner on January 2nd 2008 "No-one who I or my colleagues have spoken to wants to axe weekly grey bin collections" and is also quoted as saying "If Kirklees wants to encourage recycling, this is not the way to go about it."
