In honor of Alcoholics Anonymous' 80th Anniversary, July 2-5, 2015, Writers In Treatment, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, the producer of the international REEL Recovery Film Festival, and In the Rooms the largest recovery and treatment resource, have launched a letter writing campaign and online petition to urge the United States Postal Service to commemorate Co Founder of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon, Bill Wilson, on postage stamps in 2015.

The creation of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon has helped millions of alcoholics, addicts, and family members.

It is currently estimated there are over 1.3 million members of Alcoholic Anonymous in the United States. Al-Anon has over 250,000 members in the US.

Writers In Treatment, intherooms.com, The Bill W. Movie, and New Directions for Women asks you to sign the petition and/or send a letter to:

Markes S. Lucius
c/o Stamp Development
U.S. Postal Service
475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Room 3300
Washington, DC 20260

*The goal is to have the stamps unveiled in Atlanta, GA during the 80th Anniversary convention, which runs from Jun 12, 2015 – Jun 14, 2015. Over 75,000 participants are expected to attend.
