Name: Pam " Cheetah" Everhart on Jun 20, 2008Comments: I have been a resident in N. Myrtle Beach for 28 years and a Harley rider for 15 years. I believe that MOST look forward to seeing, serving, selling and accommodating the bikers. It brings revenue all along the strand not just in a specific area. Deferring this type of tourism could certainly have a negative effect on everyone. Even bike vendors bring revenue to the beach as well, because they have to be accommodated, eat at restaurants and return year after year.Flag

A lot of Blacks cme to Harley Rally and a lot more would come if there was not a seperate and specific BLACK event! Have one event for all and police it well with entertainment inside. Not on the STREETS!!!!!!Flag

I will say this though, they are consistent. Consistently BAD...... Bikers have families also and I think I will spend my money elsewhere in the county if they decide to do away with BIKE WEEK.Flag

Name: Anita Patton on Jun 23, 2008Comments: I have lived in Myrtle Beach for 20 years. I work in the service industry, have to travel all through Myrtle Beach during the rallies, and have only left town once during May, only to attend a family event that was scheduled without my input. This is a tourism destination--we need the money. The Harley rally is not a problem. They feed our economy in all areas, even the transportation industry (most of them have the good sense to park the bikes if they are drunk). Don't bend to fools that don't belong in a tourism driven town to begin with. As far as Memorial Day weekend is concerned--it's not Myrtle Beach's rally to begin with--unless you outlaw motorcycles you can't stop the people from Atlantic Beach's rally from driving on our roads. GIve our police the support they need to enforce the already exsisting laws, and the trouble makers will disappear.Flag
