Name: Susan Brown on Jun 27, 2010Comments: Please add bike lanes and all traffic calming tools available on this narrow- two lane thoroughfare through this largely residential district that intersects with important commercial nodes. These types of infrastructure are necessary to increase the number of citizens willing to use alternate modes of transportation, otherwise Indianapolis stays stagnant and we continue to see overuse of autos as the sole source of movement. 54th street should be treated the same as well.Flag

Name: Ron Wielage on Jun 27, 2010Comments: My wife has been biking to work on 52nd St. -> Allisonville -> 71st -> Graham. On stretches where there aren't bike lanes motorists sometimes don't acknowledge the right for a cyclist to ANY space on the street. About 1/3rd of the time she has a close call where a motorist comes within inches of hitting her.Flag

Name: Angela Obergfell on Jun 27, 2010Comments: 52nd Street East of the Monon has the desired bike lanes. It does not make sense that with the repaving west of the Monon, that they could not be integrated in the plan before it progresses any further. Mayor Ballard wants a bike friendly atmosphere. This is the prime time to make this short strech match that further east on 52nd! Do it now! It just takes some diagramings and lines! Think of Allisonville Road - we have them there and need them on 52nd too! Angie ObergfellFlag

Name: Kenneth Abernathy on Jun 27, 2010Comments: 52nd street is heavily travelled by pedestrians; cyclist, joggers, families with strollers and continues to grow with pedestrian traffic. It is imperative that consideration is given to include safe sidewalks and bike lanes in the repaving of 52nd street. Thank you.Flag

Name: Linda McMullen on Jun 27, 2010Comments: I have used that street to get to the Monon from Washington Blvd. It definetly needs at least one bike lane. 52nd st. is very busy, and most of it is one lane of traffic. Why would you NOT have a bike lane? I see so many more bike lanes around Indianapolis. I think this would be a major oversight to leave this out of our bike ways.Flag

Name: Patricia Case on Jun 28, 2010Comments: Our neighborhood has been trying to get the City to paint bike lanes on 52nd (the intersection with Habig/Taste/Sparkle Cleaners/Luna-Aristocrat/City Dog) and re-pave and re-sidewalk. When the plans came out -- GUESS WHAT -- NO BIKE LANES!!!! Good Griefffff!! Please make sure this corner is SAFE. ADD the Bike Lanes to the plans!Flag

Name: Heather Jaquay on Jun 28, 2010Comments: I was hit by a car at 52nd and Winthrop while riding my bike home from the Monon. I believe that had there been bike lanes or a sidewalk unobstructed by telephone poles, this would not have happened. I was lucky that my son was not on the bike with me. Since then I only access the Monon from 54th or 49th street. 52nd street is unsafe from college to the Monon!Flag

Name: Emily Walvoord on Jun 28, 2010Comments: Currently there is not a safe way for me and my children to get from our home in Meridian-Kessler (44th and Penn) to the Monon trail on our bicycles. The sidewalks between College Ave. and the Trail are in horrible condition and the streets are too narrow for cars and bikes to safely travel in both directions. PLEASE address this issue that is so vital to keeping our neighborhood safe and interconnected.Flag

Name: David Cornelius on Jun 28, 2010Comments: Bike lanes on 52nd Street east of College Ave would allow safer passage from Meridian-Kessler to the Monon. The existing 52nd street bike lanes (Monon to Keystone) would also become more useful and connect neighborhoods to businesses on College Ave.Flag
