This petition’s purpose is to show the approval and support of the formation of a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) at Arnold O. Beckman High School (3588 Bryan Avenue, Irvine, CA 92602). The formation of this program would most likely include the creation of a new class specifically for JROTC. A Jrotc is great for, Developing good citizenship and patriotism Developing self-reliance, leadership, and responsiveness to constituted authority.Improving the ability to communicate well both orally and in writing. Developing an appreciation of the importance of physical fitness. Increasing a respect for the role of the U.S. Armed Forces in support of national objectives. Developing knowledge of team building skills and basic military skills.Taking 3–4 years of the course allows the cadets to instantly rank higher if they pursue a military career. The establishment of a JROTC would assist in bringing all these vital and virtuous qualities, traits, and knowledge to the students at Arnold O. Beckman High School. School pride and the respect of communities (whether they are local or not) as well as respect of military personnel for Arnold O. Beckman High School would see a significant increase with the establishment of this program. Moreover, this program promotes and fosters good citizenship and patriotism – something necessary for a school with a mascot being a patriot and its colors being that of the American flag. Supporting this program into creation of becoming an actual program would help students with grades, responsiblity, leadership, less likeliness of getting in trouble, and more positive attributes that you learn from this program. This program has no obligation to military, yet uses military as a basis of their teaching for the military has taught many great leaders today how to lead workers, soldiers, and even civilians to be the best they can be in society. PLEASE SUPPORT BHS JROTC TODAY!
