Name: Jeffrey Hurwit on Sep 21, 2006Comments: The lake is an incredible, unique resource - so close to a city center yet visibly attractive and clean. We should sieze this unique opportunity to purchase the adjacent land and expand it into a true "public pleasure ground" (in the language of the 1800's) as a park, beach, swimming place and community gathering spot. Thank you for all your efforts.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 3, 2006Comments: Please buy 20 Rogers St. It is an eyesore, and the owner is just making trouble for the whole community. Crystal Lake is too beautiful to be harmed in this way. Development of the site according to the plan displayed here is lovely. It suits the city.Flag

Name: Dana Alan Jackson on Oct 4, 2006Comments: For 18 years I lived around the corner on Allerton Road (I've lived in Lower Falls for the past 28 years) and the condition of the city-owned property at Crystal Lake has always been in need of expansion and improvement. I hope the petitioners' efforts will prove effective.Flag

Name: Hal Lichtin on Nov 24, 2006Comments: I've been intending to sign this for too long. The current situation is a disgrace. Nothing beyond minor maintenance appears to have been done to the bathouse and lake area since the 1950's. The current arrangement is inadequate and an invitation to pollution from the parking area runoff. Purchasing the 20 Rogers Street property must be just the first step towards developing the park and bathing area that Newton deserves.Flag
