Our children are in danger of a poor education and safety due to our officials proposing the closing of one of our elementary schools and crowding the two remaing schools. This will cause our children to have over filled classrooms and will have less attention for each child. Teachers are already being overworked and need help handling the amount of children already in their classrooms (25). First it is a tight fit within the classroom and the potential addition of 5 to 10 more children to be stuffed into the room will be a disaster. Second, in the event of FIRE....how many would be trampled, hurt or even lost due to over crowding and the inabilty to get them all out safely? Teachers are also not able to have aids or extra help, thus, teachers trying to educate our children and many are going by the wayside and not learning to full potential. The testing process has been lowered to accomodate the lowscores and has caused our children to come through with a sub-standard education. As parents, grand parents, and all in our community it is our responsibility to give our children the best chance available. This closing has long term bad affects for all of our children. PLEASE....Please......let them know not to do this closing.
