We have all had or atleast known someone that needed care not just in elderly life. Care assistants do a fantasic job we do it because we want to and its very rewarding in its own right but in this day and age with a recession on we all want to be paid right for what we do and maybe many of you are not aware but most care assistants get min wage for long 12hr shifts community care assistant are sometimes out the house for 16hrs only getting paid for 6/8hours its min wage for cleaning up bodily fluids all the things most people care not to talk about let alone deal with, bathing, dressing, feeding we get hit, piched, punched, spat at verbaly abused. Many care homes are under staffed making it very hard work we dont want medals just a chance to earn better for doing something we enjoy. We cant go on strike we could not do that we care to much for the people we look after.
