We, the undersigned, petition the Mayor and Council of Oceanport to forcefully oppose the closure of Fort Monmouth by joining the lawsuit recently filed by the Union representing employees at Fort Monmouth. The Union is attempting to compel the Department of Defense to justify its recommendation to Congress that Fort Monmouth should be closed as part of the BRAC process. We demand that the Mayor and Council retain legal counsel to represent the Borough and to file an Amicus Brief in support of the Union
