Belmont Parents Curriculum for Excellence Petition

"There are no national prescriptions for the number of subjects that pupils should be examined for in S4. The precise number and range of qualifications on offer, as well as when they are taken, will be a decision for schools to take in consultation with learners and parents."
Mike Russell, Minister for Education

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate to South Ayrshire Council that the people of South Ayrshire want their children and young people to have the best possible start in life.

If you are a pupil in a South Ayrshire school, a parent, guardian or friend of a child or young person and believe that:

"In the absence of national standards for the maximum number of subjects that pupils may be examined for in S4, the number of subjects available at Belmont Academy should be decided by the school in consultation with learners and parents and not dictated (or limited) by South Ayrshire council, as this will potentially disadvantage South Ayrshire children and young people."
