Name: Brian Barr on May 25, 2010Comments: I am dumbfounded by Samsung's lack of customer support for Behold II users. The only reason I bought this phone was because I had been happy with the Omnia, but wanted to move to Android since Windows Phone 7 was a ways off. The selling point for me between this phone and another T-Mobile Android phone, in late Janurary mind you, was at the time it was the only T-Mobile phone that numerous sites (+ a samsung sponsered video) reported it would be updated when Android 2.0 or 2.1 arrived. Yet here we are almost in June and there has been no comfirmation of any sort of update. Most other carriers and manufactures have upgraded their Android phones to 2.1 already. Even the T-Mobile G1 has 1.6 and it was the first ever Android phone. The Samsung Moment released after the Behold II, which only has a few small differences in hardware specs, has all ready been updated to 2.1 on and Samsung via twitter is takeing Moment user's input on updating them to 2.2. Yet here we Behold 2 users have no confirmed date of any kind of update. We have only received a small bug update which hardly improved the usability of the Behold II. It's only thanks to private developers and the custom roms they have released that we Behold II users can finally start to enjoy our phones like we thought we would. Dump Touch wiz and give us a stock 2.1 update it will save in development and make your customers happy since most would agree we hate the current touch wiz. In these economic times you should realize that a lot of people can't afford to get rid of their Behold II's and go buy your Galaxy S when it comes out considering it's been less than a year the Behold II has been out and any of us that have used our conract renewal discount to get this phone won't be elidigble for at least another year and a half. Frankly if the Behold II is not updated to Android 2.1 at some point this year or a conformation of an update from Samsung is not released before Novemeber I will be buying a new phone that is not made by Samsung. Also, I will never again buy a Samsung product and I will do everything in my power to convince my friends, family, and anyone who will listen to not by any products manufactured by Samsung because at best they will only have a chance of any real customer service or support past a month or two of the date they purchase a Samsung product. I will post on any forum I can find and encourage other Behold II users to do the same which they probably already are.Flag

The Behold 2 is a disaster and daily frustration with its constant malfunctions, breakdowns and lack of updates and support. I would not have believed that Samsung would be so callous with their loyal customers. If they don't make amends to our satisfaction, I am on board with taking joint legal action to secure what was promised to us.Flag

No other device or hardware manufacturer has gotten away with not providing OS and firmware updates for their products, I had faith in you as a brand through your televisions and I've had several handsets in the past that were phenomenal. Don't ream us with no lube, and leave us high and dry after we put faith in you that you would deliver on your claims... I can assure you it won't just be me but hundreds of thousands of like minded consumers that will think twice before we buy another device from you, unless you make good on your word damn soon, and give us the support that we once again... Paid our hard earned money for.Flag

I will not be buying ANYTHING from them unless they fix this, and I will be bad-mouthing them to everyone I know as a result of this. Way to save a few dollars, Samsung. Hope it was worth it.Flag

Name: Zach Marshall on May 25, 2010Comments: I've only owned this phone for 3 months. The T-Mobile store rep advised me that all updates are pushed wirelessly, even updates to the OS. A Samsung promotional video straight up tells customers that when Android OS 2.0 is available, it will be pushed wirelessly to the phone. The Behold II has only been available for 7 months, and manufacturer support for it is already dwindling. I believe the lack of support truly started when Samsung pushed a "bug fix" update that didn't fix any bugs, but did include additional bloatware - the bugs known to the device still haven't been addressed satisfactorily. Knowing that the lack of support limits Behold II owners from realizing the full potential of our devices is infuriating. In addition to not being able to take advantage of the new features that the OS updates bring, we will also still be stuck with bugs that would otherwise be fixed, and miss out on apps that are available to those with Android 2.x. Even if Samsung does the right thing and opts to continue support for this device, it will be the last Samsung product I ever purchase. (I am definitely one to hold a grudge, too. UPS lost a package en route to me some 3 years ago, and I haven't used any of their services since then - even going so far as to shop at different online retailers when the only shipping option is UPS. I can easily abstain from Samsung for the rest of my life, and I don't mind spreading the word.)Flag
