The designation is official and our neighborhood is finally protected. It has been a long and draining road to pull this off but seeing our history secured makes it feel worthwhile. We need to stay alert to ensure these new rules are respected moving forward.

The bureaucratic silence from the commission is draining but I am holding onto the stories you keep leaving in the comments about these brownstones. I am spending my evenings gathering documentation to prove what we already know about the value of our streets. We are not walking away from this fight.

Keep Bed-Stuy beautiful! This neighborhood has so much history and we need to protect it.
Much needed. This area needs real protection before everything is modernized and ruined.
Lived here 20 years and hate seeing these beautiful old homes getting torn down. Please save what is left.
PLEASE do this. The architecture is why I moved here in the first place.
The brownstones are the heart of brooklyn. stop the demolition now.
